Terra Festivalis was first introduced in 2019. The section is always devoted to one national cinematography with growing international recognition (Bulgaria, Israel, Mexico). This year’s edition revises the Portuguese art-house films by Pedro Costa or Miguel Gomes and introduces several talented newcomers. Our multi-themed selection contains new authorial experiments as well as revisions of some of the last century’s pressing issues. There’s only a few filmmakers and production companies in contemporary Portuguese cinema, but the quality of their work is constantly astounding and inspirational.
